WHITNEY.
I
have traveled throughout Europe studying architecture in countries
including France, Germany, Austria, The Czech Republic, Poland,
Switzerland and Italy. I also spent a summer studying art in Hawaii.
Living and working in New York City, I was an apprentice for a wedding
dress designer and got involved with Gensler, a global architecture and
design firm, at their New York Rockefeller office. I moved to California
to become an intern at Gensler's San Francisco office, working with
project managers and principals Julia Campbell, Scott Dunlap, and Collin
Burry. I helped in the workplace studio designing projects for
companies including IBM, Dodge and Cox, Deloitte, and Gensler's own
office space plan.
I
graduated from Brigham Young University in Idaho with a B.A. in
interior design with honors in 2008. I currently and happily reside in
the Bay area of California with my husband and two sons.
I
love being a mother. My favorite thing is holding my children after
they have awoken from their naps. I love to read--anything and
everything I can get my hands on. I love to travel, mostly to romantic
cities. Gimmelwald, Switzerland belongs to my husband and I. I wish I
could have fresh-cut flowers in every room in the house.
I'm
very detail-oriented. I can't go to bed some nights as I think about my
goals and dreams. I can make to-do lists for days. I'm a
reach-for-the-stars kind of girl and always have been, and I believe
ordinary people can do extraordinary things. I love people and I hope
that you and I can become friends through this blog.
It is so nice to meet you.
KEVIN.
I like FELT. A lot. I feel an unusually strong desire to have lots and lots of FELT around--LIKE THESE felt ROCKS. I want to have all the rooms in every house I ever visit to have a pile of these to jump into.
I
am currently 31. That number changes very regularly every March. I am
kinda skinny but I call it LEAN. I feel strongly about playing a lot,
and avoiding responsibility. I am inspired by people who have lofty
goals. I was the only college baseball player that I knew who had a
flower window box in his apartment, and pillows in the shape of skate
companies that he sewed himself.
The
day I met my wife I was trying to glue awesome blue fabric on to some
white Italian loafers. Bad idea then, bad idea now. But I think that
she thought there might be some potential in me. The jury is still out.
I
Graduated from BYU in Exercise Science. I got an MBA in Athletic
Administration. I currently work at Stanford University in Athletics. I
have 12 wins and 54 losses in an ongoing Wrestling Super-Match with our
3-year-old, Satchel.
OH, AND I LOVE TO DESIGN INTERIOR SPACES. I LOVE TO BUILD FURNITURE.
I LOVE TO MAKE A HOUSE A HOME. I LOVE TO SEE SOMEONE SAY,
"I SPEND SO MUCH TIME HERE, AND I DESERVE MORE FOR MYSELF."
I LOVE TO HELP PEOPLE SEE THAT VISION.
